Pune Police Arrest 9 People Involved in Cutting Birthday Cake With Sword

Pune: Pune Police have booked nine persons, including a minor after they used a sword to cut a cake kept atop a car during a birthday celebration in a public place in Dhankawadi area on Wednesday night.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Savlaram Salgaonkar, Police Inspector, at Sahakar Nagar police station said, “The incident took place in Dhankawadi area around 10.30 pm. A group of youths had gathered on a road to celebrate the birthday of a 19-year-old local resident who used a sword to cut the birthday cake. Police launched a probe after receiving a complaint about the incident.”
As per information, 9 youths have been arrested by the police so far. 8 youths are above the age of 18 and 1 is a juvenile. These youths do not have any criminal background. All of them have been booked under Arms Act & Bombay Police Act.
Police are further investigating the matter. However, the prima facie speculation is that the youth used the swords under the influence of their friends.
