The Maharashtra state government has taken a significant step towards the development of 34 villages that were merged with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). A committee comprising people’s representatives, headed by the divisional commissioner, has been formed to oversee and implement various developmental projects in these areas. The government has allocated sufficient funds to support these initiatives.

These 34 villages, which lack essential infrastructure and amenities, have been included within the PMC’s jurisdiction in two phases, with the most recent addition in 2021.

The establishment of this committee aims to address the longstanding challenges faced by these villages and ensure the implementation of development policies.

This committee will be headed by the Divisional Commissioner of Pune. It will review the funds allocation and money required for carrying out civic works in the 34 villages, mentioned in the GR issued by the urban development department.
