Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation collects Rs 300 crore property tax in 82 days

Pune : Over 4 lakh property holders pay tax; PCMC's collection reaches Rs 700 crores

Pune: The tax department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has collected an amount of more than Rs 300 crores as property tax from property holders in just 82 days i.e. April 1 to June 21, 2023.

As per information from the PCMC Tax Department, an amount of Rs 313 crores 78 lakh 21 thousand 457 property tax has been collected from  April 1 to June 21, 2023, from 2,43,787 property holders. The maximum amount of tax has been recovered through online payment for which the amount is Rs 221 crores 28 lakh 50 thousand 896. Out of the 2,43,787 property holders, 1,69,568 have paid their property tax online.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Nilesh Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner, PCMC Tax Department said, “This is just the beginning. A plethora of property tax concessions and discounts of PCMC is the reason for the achievement. Special exemptions have been given in property tax to women, disabled persons, ex-servicemen, environment-friendly buildings and honest taxpayers. PCMC is hopeful that henceforth, nobody will delay or default in paying property taxes ever again.”

Hence, the PCMC encourages all taxpayers to pay their property taxes on time and avail of the concessions and discounts given for the timely payment of property tax.
