Pimpri-Chinchwad, April 2, 2026: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have arrested three individuals involved in illegally refilling domestic LPG cylinders from a tanker near Bhose village on the Chakan–Shikrapur Road. The early morning operation was carried out on March 31 following a tip-off.
The accused have been identified as Ambadas Rohidas Gade (42), Akshay Ramesh Mungse (25), and Navnath Ankush Hojage (34). Officials from the North Chakan Police Station, under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, conducted the raid after receiving specific information about the illegal activity.
Police said the gang siphoned gas from a tanker parked near the Indian Oil Gas Plant, breaking its seal and using black nozzle pipes to fill domestic cylinders. Authorities highlighted that the operation was extremely hazardous, posing a serious risk not only to the accused but also to nearby residents.
The stolen gas was allegedly intended for resale at higher prices, police added. A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by Police Constable Bhairoba Yadav. During the raid, officials seized property worth ₹49.57 lakh, including the gas tanker and associated equipment.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the network and any further illegal activities linked to the operation.
