Pune Police Bust Inter-State Drug Racket; ₹4.27 Crore Worth Of Mephedrone Seized, Six Arrested Across Maharashtra And Rajasthan
Pune, February 16, 2026: Pune Police, through Kharadi Police Station, have successfully busted an inter-state narcotics trafficking racket operating between Maharashtra and Rajasthan, seizing a total of 1.960 kg of mephedrone (MD) and property worth ₹4,27,09,000 (₹4.27 crore). In this major operation, six accused persons have been arrested.
The case was registered under Crime Register No. 21/2026 at Kharadi Police Station under sections 8(c), 21(b), and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Initial Seizure in Kharadi
On 03 February 2026 at around 4:35 am, near the rear gate of EON Phase 2, Kharadi, Pune, police intercepted two persons traveling in a white Swift car on a public road. They were found illegally possessing 27 grams of mephedrone (MD) along with related materials worth ₹12,41,000.
The two accused were identified as:
Motisingh Shravansingh Rajpurohit (28), resident of Wagholi, Pune
Harish Sujanaram Devasi (22), resident of Wagholi, Pune
During custodial interrogation, it was revealed that both were originally from Jodhpur district, Rajasthan, and had been actively involved in MD trafficking for the past one year. They procured MD from Rajasthan-based suppliers and distributed it in the Pune region.
Expansion of the Investigation
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 7, Pune City, Shri Somay Munde, and supervision of Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Chavan (Kharadi Police Station), two special investigation teams were formed. The teams were led by Assistant Police Inspector Ravindra Godse, Police Sub-Inspector Rahul Kolpe, and supporting staff.

Arrests and Seizures
07 February 2026 – Wagholi Operation:
Based on intelligence, police arrested Yogesh alias Manish Baburam Bishnoi (30), resident of Lodta Haridas Shota, Kalyaninagar, Lohawat, Tehsil Chamu, District Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
From him, police seized:
151 grams of MD worth ₹30,20,000
1 mobile phone worth ₹8,000
Total seizure: ₹30,28,000
Hadapsar–Mundhwa Operation:
His cousin, Sachin alias SK Rameshkumar Bishnoi (20), resident of Palli Khilorita, Lohawat, District Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was detained from the Hadapsar–Mundhwa area.
Seized from him:
Cash ₹4,65,000 (proceeds of MD sales)
One Apple mobile phone worth ₹40,000
Manjari Budruk Operation:
Sachin Bishnoi disclosed that he sold MD to Amit Sunil Ghule (40), resident of Vrundavan Colony, Belhekar Vasti, Manjari Budruk, Pune.
Police arrested Amit Ghule and seized:
398 grams of MD worth ₹79,60,000
Toyota Fortuner vehicle
Two mobile phones
Total seizure: ₹1,02,40,000
Rajasthan Raid and Major Breakthrough
Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Pune City Amitesh Kumar, DCP Zone 7 Somay Munde, and DCP Crime Branch Nikhil Pingale, five special investigation teams comprising 5 officers and 20 personnel were formed and sent to Rajasthan on 09 February 2026.
On 11 February 2026, police arrested the main MD distributor:
Ratanlal Krishnaram Jath (20), resident of Baldevnagar, Balotra, native village Pirani Sai Yokidhani, Parade Tehsil, Gida, District Balotra, Rajasthan.
From him, police seized:
1,384 grams of mephedrone
Valued at ₹2,76,80,000 (₹2.76 crore)
Additionally, another absconding accused active in the racket,
Ramkaran Jat alias Chaudhary alias Siyag, resident of Kaporiya Osiya, District Jodhpur,
was detained on 12 February 2026 by the Anti-Narcotics Unit 2, Pune.
Total Recovery and Arrests
In the complete operation, Pune Police recovered:
Total mephedrone seized: 1,960 grams (1.96 kg)
Value of MD: ₹3,92,00,000 (₹3.92 crore)
Property including mobiles, Fortuner car, and materials: ₹35,09,000
Total value of seized property: ₹4,27,09,000 (₹4.27 crore)
Total accused arrested: 06
Ongoing Investigation
This major inter-state operation has led to the complete dismantling of an active MD trafficking racket operating between Rajasthan and Pune.
Further investigation in the case is being conducted by Police Inspector Ravindra Godse.
Pune Police have described the operation as a significant success in the fight against narcotics trafficking and organized crime.
