Pune Police Crack Down on Prafful Kasbe's Associates in Yerwada
Pune: In a decisive move to curb criminal activities, Yerwada Police detained associates of gangster Prafful Kasbe for creating public fear in Laxminagar. The crackdown followed an incident where Kasbe and his associates, after his release on bail under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), staged a bike rally and released videos claiming dominance.
On Thursday night, police rounded up Kasbe’s associates and disciplined them in a temporary structure erected at Laxminagar Chowk, out of public view but in the presence of local residents. This public demonstration of police authority was lauded by citizens, who appreciated the efforts to restore security in the area.

While Kasbe remains absconding, police have registered a case against him and approximately 35-40 of his associates. The operation was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingale, DCP Himmat Jadhav, and senior officers from Yerwada Police Station. Investigations are underway under the supervision of Assistant Police Inspector Solunke.
