Pune | July 28, 2025 – A notorious burglar with multiple cases registered across states has been arrested by Loni Kalbhor police in connection with a house break-in at Kadamwak Vasti. The accused, Pratik Hirachand Lidkar (31), a resident of Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, was traced and apprehended from his hometown, leading to the recovery of gold ornaments, cash, and a mobile phone worth ₹6.39 lakh.

The burglary came to light after Shaikh Shabbir Mogal (43) of Pathare Vasti, Kadamwak Vasti, returned from a family trip to Barshi on July 14 and found his home ransacked. The main door lock had been broken, and valuables were stolen from a cupboard and safe inside the house. Mogal filed a complaint at the Loni Kalbhor police station on July 15.

A detailed technical investigation and inputs from local informants helped police zero in on the accused. A team was dispatched to Khandwa, where they monitored local activity and laid a trap. Lidkar was arrested on July 23, just nine days after the complaint was lodged.

The operation was executed under the supervision of DCP Dr. Rajkumar Shinde and ACP Anuradha Udame, with field leadership by Senior PI Rajendra Panhale, Crime PI Smita Patil, and API Krishna Babar, along with a dedicated team of officers and constables.

Further investigation revealed that Lidkar is a habitual offender, with 15 criminal cases — including burglary, theft, and robbery — registered in both Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Authorities successfully recovered all stolen items from the Kadamwak Vasti case.
