Pune Police Seize Banned Nylon Manja Worth ₹1.08 Lakh; Two Youths Arrested Near Hadapsar Railway Station
Pune, November 20, 2025: The Pune City Police have detained two youths and seized banned nylon manja worth ₹1,08,800 during an operation conducted by Mundhwa Police Station on November 19, 2025.
Police constables Shivaji Jadhav and Yogesh Raut received a tip-off through an informant that two individuals would be arriving near Hadapsar Railway Station to sell nylon manja to their contacts. Acting on the information, PSI Yuvraj Poman informed the Senior Police Inspector and formed a team to conduct a raid.
During the operation, police apprehended Ayush Rahul Shinde (20), resident of Sasane Nagar, Arihant Residency, Hadapsar, Pune, Yashraj Vijay Divekar (20), resident of Higne Mala, near Bhairavnath Temple, Hadapsar, Pune.
From their possession, police seized nylon manja reels of the Mono Filgold brand, valued at ₹1,08,800. The material was confiscated on the spot.
A case has been registered at Mundhwa Police Station under IPC Section 223, Section 3(5) and relevant sections of the Environmental Protection Act (Sections 5 and 15). PSI Yuvraj Poman is conducting further investigation.
This action was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police, Pune City: Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 5: Dr. Rajkumar Shinde, Assistant Commissioner of Police Anuradha Uddamale
The operation was supervised by Senior Police Inspector Smita Wasnik and Police Inspector (Crime) Babasaheb Nikam. The team included API Raju Mahanor, PSI Yuvraj Poman, and police personnel Shivaji Jadhav, Rahul Dhotre, Shivaji Dhandhe, Rahul More, Yogesh Gaikwad, Yogesh Raut, Rupesh Todekar and Swapnil Raskar.
