Pune police seize e-cigarettes and Rs 2 lakh worth of goods from M G Road shopkeepers

Pune: Acting on a tip-off, police officers and police enforcers of the social security department, crime branch raided 3 shops in the Lashkar Camp premises. The team arrested  3 people selling illegal e-cigarettes containing tobacco and items worth Rs 2,32,100 were seized. 

The arrested people are booked under section 7 (2), 20(2) of prohibition of advertising and trade, commerce, production, supply and distribution Act 2003 and Rules 2004 as well as section 5 and 8 of electronic cigarette prohibition amendment act 2019. The seized material is handed over to the Lashkar Police Station for further action.

The said action was taken under the guidance of Ritesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Pune, Sandip Karnik, Joint Commissioner of Police, Pune, Ramnath Pokle, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime, Pune, Amol Zende, Deputy Commissioner of Police Crime, Pune, Bharat Jadhav, Senior Police Inspector of Social Security Department by the team of Police Officers Rajesh Malegave, Baba Karpe, Ajay Rane, Tushar Bhivarkar, Imran Nadaf, Amey Rasal, Reshma Kank, Kishore Bhujbal, Omkar Kumbar.
