‘Vitthal Rukmini Varkari Bima Chhatra Yojana’ for Ashadhi Wari Warkari’s: Eknath Shinde

Mumbai, June 22 : Maharashtra State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday decided to implement the ‘Vitthal Rukmini Warkari Bima Chhatra Yojana’ which provides insurance cover for the warkaris participating in Pandharpur’s Ashadhi Wari.

Millions of warkaris will get insurance coverage at the cost of the government. This insurance cover will be for 30 days.

According to the official press statement issued Wednesday stated that, in case of the unfortunate death of a warkari, his family will be given an ex-gratia grant of Rs 5 lakh. Rs 1 lakh will be given in case of permanent disability or disability due to accident.

Rs 50,000 rupees in case of partial disability and up to Rs 35,000 rupees for medical treatment in case of illness during menstruation.

A government decision has been issued in this regard and this scheme will be implemented through the relief and rehabilitation department.

Accidents or mishaps take place during war and warkari are injured or unfortunately die.

The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister have taken this decision with the aim of getting financial help to them and their families, the statement added.
