In a recent incident at Sadashiv Peth, a young woman was attacked in broad daylight, but fortunately, two courageous men apprehended the assailant and took the victim to the nearby Perugate Police Chowky. However, to their surprise, they found the police chowky unmanned.

Consequently, three police personnel, including a constable from Perugate Police Chowky, have been suspended for alleged dereliction of duty. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Sandeep Singh Gill confirmed the suspensions, citing negligence on the part of the three officers.

The suspended officers are Head Constable Sunil Shantaram Tathe, Constables Prashant Prakash Jagdale, and Sagar Namdev Rane.

The shocking incident occurred two days ago when a boy pursued and brutally attacked a female college student in Sadashiv Peth area. Two bystanders bravely apprehended the attacker, without guarding their own safety. It was later discovered that no police personnel were present at the Perugate Police Chowky when the incident took place. Local residents contacted the police control room, and the Pune Police officers arrived at the spot after being informed.
