Pune: Travellers and residents of Magarpatta and Hadapsar areas are facing inconvenience due to heavy vehicles entering the narrow Noble Hospital Bypass road and canal road junction despite a ban on them. It is worthy to note that heavy vehicles are not allowed in the area. The drivers are ignoring the rules despite a no-entry board.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Hitesh Joseph, a teacher at Shriyog Yoga Institute and a resident of Magarpatta said, ” The issue of traffic jam has become an everyday issue. People coming to the Yoga Institute also face the issue. There is no entry board on the road, but the drivers of these heavy vehicles blatantly ignore it. A height barrier was also previously installed.  However, they manage to enter the narrow road.”

Chandrakala Kaswa, Resident of Hadapsar, said “I frequently visit the area. During my travel, I see that a lot of heavy vehicles like tempos, trucks etc enter on the road despite a No Entry board for heavy vehicles. The road is already narrow and, by heavy vehicles entering there, it becomes narrower, creating huge traffic.”

Keerti Pawar, a Resident of Sopanbaug, said “While entering the narrow path towards the Noble Hospital parallel to main Hadapsar road, the corner becomes a blind turn. Occupancy of a lot of heavy vehicles is there. They are just parked on that narrow path & nobody takes care of it. Also, there is a lot of illegal parking in the area & a lot of noise is there due to the traffic congestion created.”

Sadanand Shevade, Resident Magarpatta, said “Heavy vehicles shouldn’t be allowed there as a clear board of No Entry is there. Then why are heavy vehicles still commuting from that road? Already, it is a very narrow path &, by heavy vehicles using that road, it becomes more narrow and so, we have to face frequent traffic bottlenecks. The authorities should take note of this & resolve this soon.”

Sunil Jadhav, Police Inspector (Traffic), Hadapsar has assured that a team of traffic police will be sent to the spot immediately & action will be taken against the offenders.
