The residents of Pune and other cities in Maharashtra who need to register their property documents can now register their properties on weekends too. With the decision to keep 27 property registration offices open on weekends, citizens will have more flexibility in terms of when they can complete their paperwork. This move is especially beneficial for those who work during the weekdays and find it challenging to take time off to register their property documents.

The decision was made after developers and homebuyers raised the issue of weekend registration, and the revenue minister approved the proposal put forth by the state property registration department.

Five offices in Pune, one in Mumbai City, Thane, Nashik, and Nagpur will remain open on weekends, and the staff will receive a day off during the week to make up for the additional hours. Earlier, only 5 out of 516’s property offices remained open during weekends.

Overall, this move is a step towards making property registration more accessible and convenient for citizens in Maharashtra.
