Pune Pulse Impact: Traffic police take measures to solve illegal parking and traffic congestion issues in Kalyani Nagar

Pune: Pune Pulse had recently reported the issues faced by the residents of Kalyani Nagar because of illegal parking in front of D mart and Cerebrum IT Park in Kalyani Nagar. Taking note of the report, the traffic police monitored the situation and took legal action against the owners leading to an improvement in the situation. 

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Monica Sharma, a resident of Kalyani Nagar & member of the Kalyani Nagar forum said, “ The issue of illegally parked vehicles in front of Cerebrum IT park and D mart has been reduced considerably. The tariff police considerably monitored the issues. As a result, the issue was resolved quickly. Inspector Shailesh Sankhe along with the traffic department fined the motorists which improved the situation quickly.”

“However, it needs constant monitoring. As soon as the cops leave the area, some vehicles are parked again. There are 2 big buses which are still parked in front of D Mart mall. Autos & cars are also seen standing on that spot, ” she further added.

Munir Vastani, Resident of Kumar Kruti Society, Kalyani Nagar said, “I am very thankful to the police for taking into consideration this issue of illegal parking. I can see a lot of positive differences in traffic movement now. A patrolling team of police comes to the area 2 to 3 times for patrolling and monitors the situation till 8 pm. However, after the cops are gone, some vehicles still come & park their vehicles. So, the police have to constantly monitor the area.”

Shailesh Sankhe, from Yerawada Traffic Police said, “When we went in front of D Mart mall, we saw 10 to 15 vehicles parked there. We immediately issued challans and removed them from the area. Now, a patrolling team from our traffic division constantly monitors the entire area frequently every day.”
