Pune: Rahatani Resident Swindled Of Rs 23.5 Lakhs In Online Stock Market Scam
17 July, 2024
In a shocking turn of events, a resident of Rahatani fell victim to an online stock market fraud, losing a substantial amount of Rs 23.5 lakhs.
The fact that the resident was defrauded of Rs. 23.5 lakhs is quite alarming. It’s positive to know that a case has been registered against the unidentified accused at Wakad Police Station under Sections 419, 406, and 420 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). These sections typically deal with offenses related to cheating, criminal breach of trust, and fraud.
It’s unfortunate that the accused used WhatsApp to lure the claimer into investing in stocks through the ACVVL online account app. Promising high returns and pressuring the plaintiff to deposit more money is a classic tactic used in financial fraud schemes. It’s crucial to be cautious and skeptical of such offers, especially when they seem too good to be true. It’s essential to verify the legitimacy of investment opportunities and to never share personal or banking information without thorough research and confirmation.
Assistant Police Inspector Pawar is handling the further investigation into this case.
