Pune: Pune Railway Division and Pune Metro are contemplating on the idea of having a joint ticket counter for the ease and convenience of Pune citizens.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr Ramdas Bhise, Divisional Commercial Manager and Public Relations Officer, Pune Railway Division said, “The Pune railway division is in discussion with the Pune Metro authorities regarding the possibility of opening ticket windows for the issuance of Railway and Metro tickets at the same place & at the same time. A collaborative site visit is scheduled to take place next week and the exact location will be determined accordingly.”

As per information, currently, the Railway ticketing counter can be found on the ground floor of the entry gate on Raja Bahadur Mill Road and the Metro ticketing counter inside the metro station on the upper side of Raja Bahadur Mill Road. If people are going by metro to Pune railway station and want to board the train, then they have to go to FOB to purchase train tickets.

After the 2nd phase of Pune Metro was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on 1st August, passengers who are alighting from the train at Pune Railway Station can now go directly to the nearest metro station via FOB. 230- 266 trains are going every day from Pune Railway Station which are used by lakhs of people across the country. Railway passengers do not have to carry heavy bags anymore as they have feeder metro services directly from the Railway Station to long-distance destinations on the Pimpri Chinchwad Metro route and Karve Road Metro route.
