Pune railway station installs waste composting plant
Pune Railway Division has taken a step towards cby installing a waste composting plant. The composting plant is set up under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of ICICI Foundation and Environment Conservation Association (ECA). The plant began its operations at the hands of Indu Dubey, Pune railway divisional controller, ICICI foundation’s Chief Operating Officer Anuj Agarwal.
The plant has a capacity to treat 1000 kg of wet waste through the vermiculture process.
The plant was inaugurated in presence of Senior Divisional Technical Engineer Vijay Dadas, station director and divisional commercial manager Dr Ramdas Bhise, ICICI Foundation’s West Zone head Monika Acharya, ECA’s Vinita Date and railway staff.
