In the upcoming elections, the spotlight shines on the picturesque Raireshwar Fort, nestled at a staggering altitude of 4,491 feet, as it gears up to host the highest polling booth in the Baramati constituency.
The Election Commission has embarked on a logistical feat to ensure smooth proceedings at this remote location. Election staff and officers have been mobilised to trek to the fort, equipped with essential voting machinery including Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), control units and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) devices.
Acknowledging the challenges posed by the terrain, the Election Commission has provided a special backpack facility for the dedicated polling team. Negotiating the rugged path to Raireshwar, the team will traverse using an iron ladder, exemplifying their commitment to upholding the democratic process even in the most challenging environments.
The commencement of material distribution marks the beginning of preparations for the Raireshwar polling station team stationed in the Bhor assembly constituency.
