Pune : Rampant garbage dumping irks Kalwad Wasti residents near Pune airport, demand immediate action from PMC 

Residents of Kalwad Wasti are troubled due to continuous dumping garbage in the area, resulting in foul smell, flies, health issue etc.

As per further information shared by residents of Kalwad Wasti,

The residential area of Kalwad Wasti, located behind Pune airport, has become the unintended site for garbage segregation of Viman Nagar and nearby localities. This has resulted in an unbearable situation characterized by a persistent foul smell and an infestation of flies, making it impossible for them and their neighbours to open the doors and windows of their homes.

This issue is becoming very much severe day by day. The residents have issued various complaints officially registered with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) regarding this menace but no action is being taken.

The residents have also reached out to the local authorities, but the problem persists, affecting the health and well-being of all residents.

The issue of garbage in Vimannagar has been reported by residents several times.

Residents of Vimannagar, Pune, have been grappling with an ongoing garbage problem, which reached a tipping point on Sunday, February 25th. Untreated waste has accumulated outside the backside of Joggers Park Lane, opposite Zeeshan Biryani, prompting concerns about hygiene and health hazards –

Expressing frustration, a resident lamented the persistent situation, highlighting the challenges of navigating through the area due to the uncollected garbage. “It’s a daily struggle, and it’s been over a year now,” she stated, emphasizing the dangers posed to children who frequently play nearby.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Somnath Bankar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, PMC Nagar Road Vadgaon Sheri Ward Office, said “We will visit the site, inspect & take relevant action.”
