Residents of Hadapsar, particularly those in Swami Vivekanand Nagar, are struggling with contaminated drinking water, which poses serious health risks. The water quality has deteriorated significantly, making it unfit for consumption and causing various waterborne illnesses.

Two residents of Swami Vivekanand Nagar have raised concerns about the quality of water they are receiving. A resident reported that the water has a foul odour, often appears brown, and contains worms, which can lead to health risks such as stomachaches and skin problems. Similarly, a resident has mentioned that the tap water is discoloured and has a foul odour, and they have even found worms in it. This has caused health issues, particularly among children and the elderly.

A resident added, “Residents have been suffering from significant health problems due to contaminated water. It’s highly concerning, especially with the presence of children. Urgent action is needed to address this issue.”

However, another resident from the concerned department mentioned, “The pipeline belongs to the society, so PMC cannot take action.”

The situation calls for urgent attention to ensure residents have access to clean and safe drinking water, essential for their health and well-being. Authorities are urged to investigate and address the matter promptly to safeguard the community’s health.
