Pune: Residents of Sade Satra Nali Near Hadapsar Raise Safety Concerns Over Drunken Misconduct, Seek Pune Police Help
Pune, April 24, 2026:
Residents of Sade Satra Nali in Pune have approached the Pune Police seeking urgent action against rising incidents of public drinking, aggressive behaviour, and safety concerns in the locality.
According to residents, cab and auto-rickshaw drivers have been frequently parking their vehicles along Vanashree Road and consuming alcohol in the open. What began as occasional incidents has now reportedly become a regular occurrence, creating an atmosphere of fear, particularly for women.
In one recent incident, a woman who confronted a group of intoxicated individuals was allegedly met with aggression, with the men attempting to attack her while under the influence of alcohol. In another case reported last week, a resident who objected to public drinking was allegedly assaulted.
Locals have also raised concerns about a permit room operating within the residential vicinity, claiming it has contributed to increased access to alcohol and led to instances of public nuisance, including verbal abuse and disorderly conduct.
Apart from law and order issues, residents highlighted additional civic concerns such as haphazard parking along internal roads and lack of regular cleaning by the Pune Municipal Corporation, further worsening living conditions in the area.
Citizens have urged authorities to take strict action against offenders, regulate illegal parking, and ensure better monitoring to restore safety and civic order in the neighbourhood.
