Pune : Residents of Tatya Tope Society in Wanowrie Face Water Supply Disruptions Due To Pipeline Leak Issues
Happiness knew no bounds for the residents of Tatya Tope society when they got a new water pipeline from the Pune Municipal Corporation supplying them water supply.
But the happiness fizzled shortly when the water pipeline got ruptured and led to excessive water leakage. The residents for the past two months are complaining that the waterline is leaking leading to erratic water supply.
A society resident complained to Pune Pulse that the new water line was a boon to us. But only after a few weeks the water line started leaking out. We have been complaining but there has been no response.
Another resident on the condition of anonymity complained that the line began supplying water just about two months ago. But its been more than a month that the water is leaking which is affecting our supply to a great extent giving us water at low pressure and insufficient quantity.
When Pune Pulse spoke to former Corporator Prashant Jagtap he said that he shall look into the matter and resolve it by informing the PMC officials.
When Pune Pulse raised the issue with the PMC water department from Cantonment Water Works they informed that the work has been done under 24 *7 supply scheme and they should be looking after the issue and resolve it.
An official from the 24 * 7 supply scheme of the PMC assured Pune Pulse that the water pipeline will be repaired within 2 days. The residents had dug up the road lay pipeline to borewell water to each bungalow in the society, during which the PMC line got ruptured. PMC has conducted a site visit yesterday and it shall be repaired in the next two days.
