Pimpri-Chinchwad | February 10, 2026:

Serious concerns have been raised over contaminated water supply in multiple residential areas of Moshi under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), prompting strong protests and warnings of large-scale agitation by local housing federations.

A formal complaint has been submitted to PCMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar regarding the supply of highly polluted and foul-smelling water in Sectors 4 to 13 of Moshi Pradhikaran, along with Indrayani Nagar, Shivajiwadi, and Borhadewadi areas.

According to residents, the water supplied by the municipal corporation has a strong foul odour and yellowish colour, making it unfit for drinking and daily use. The contaminated supply has reportedly led to health issues among children, senior citizens, women, and other residents, raising serious public health concerns.

Calling the situation extremely serious and directly linked to public health, residents have demanded immediate restoration of clean drinking water in all affected areas. Until proper purification and regular supply is ensured, citizens have demanded that water be supplied through tankers as an emergency arrangement.

The complaint also warns that if the water supply is not restored within the next four to five days, a large-scale protest will be launched through the federation.

Reacting strongly to the situation, Sanjeevan Sangale, President of the Chikhli–Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Society Federation, said that contaminated water has been supplied for the past 15 days, and despite repeated follow-ups with officials, no corrective action has been taken.

He warned that if clean water supply is not restored within the next few days, a mass agitation will be organised, and officials will be held accountable. He further stated that during the protest, municipal officials would be confronted on-site to highlight the severity of the crisis.

Copies of the complaint have also been sent for information and action to MLA Maheshdada Landge of the Bhosari Assembly Constituency, the Chief Engineer of the Water Supply Department, PCMC, and the Executive Engineer of the Water Supply Department, PCMC.

Residents have urged the civic administration to treat the issue as a public health emergency and take immediate corrective measures to ensure safe and clean drinking water for thousands of citizens living in the affected localities.
