Pune: Rhythm Society In Kalewadi Boosts Green Energy with Second Rooftop Solar Installation
A new 10 kW rooftop solar system inaugurated at Rhythm Society, Kalewadi Phata
Pune, November 22, 2025: In a significant step towards sustainable living, a new 10 kW rooftop solar power system was inaugurated at Rhythm Society in Kalewadi Phata, Wakad on Today. The project marks a successful collaboration between the residents and state government’s MLA Local Area Development funds under a green energy initiative.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Shankar Jagtap, MLA of Chinchwad. He was joined by several dignitaries, including Vinayak Gaikwad, Sandip Kaspate, and Aarti Chondhe. The society also expressed its gratitude to Prasad Kaspate, Sanket Chondhe, and Ramdas Kaspate for their presence at the event.
This new installation is a part of the ‘MLA Development Funds’ scheme, a collaborative funding model where 25% of the cost is borne by the housing society and the remaining 75% is funded through MLA Development Funds.
Explaining the project, Abhijit Karad, Secretary of Rhythm Society, provided details of the society’s green journey. “We had already installed a 10 kW solar panel system a few years ago using our own funds. This new 10 kW system, inaugurated today, has been set up under the MLA fund scheme,” said Karad.
He further revealed that the society is not stopping here. Work is already underway on a third, even larger, solar project. “We are already in the process of installing an additional 25 kW system, which will be entirely funded by the society’s own resources,” Karad added.
With 164 flats, Rhythm Society is setting a strong example for community-led environmental action. The completion of these three projects, two already installed and a third in the pipeline, showcases a dedicated commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and embracing renewable energy for a greener future.
