Man Dies in Early Morning Collision with Truck in Wagholi
Pune, Wagholi, June 9 — A tragic accident claimed the life of 37-year-old Yuvraj Patil early Saturday morning when his car collided with a truck at Gade Wasti Chowk, Wagholi. The incident occurred around 4 AM, reportedly after the truck driver made a sudden turn without signaling, leaving Patil no chance to avoid the crash. Patil sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
The truck driver fled immediately following the collision. Acting on a complaint filed by Patil’s brother, Aniruddha Patil, the Wagholi police have registered an FIR against the unidentified truck driver under applicable sections of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act.
Police officials confirmed, “Preliminary investigations suggest negligence on the part of the truck driver. We are reviewing CCTV footage and collecting eyewitness statements to proceed with legal action.”
The accident has raised fresh concerns about road safety on Nagar Road, an area frequently affected by reckless driving.
Patil, a resident of Dudulgaon Alandi, was driving at the time of the accident. The investigation is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Bagal.
