Pune: The Regional Passport Office (RPO) Pune has changed the colour of passport envelopes to make them more attractive.

Dr Arjun Deore, head of RPO, Pune said, “In the past, passport envelopes were black and white. Colour is an essential part of any Indian celebration. Getting a passport, especially your first passport, is a momentous occasion for everyone and deserves to be celebrated. That’s why RPO created a colourful passport envelope for every passport holder.”

As per information, the design is straightforward but informative. The colour scheme is appropriate for each element, making envelopes more eye-catching. Some warnings are printed in red and maroon to draw more attention, while others are printed in black so as not to overpower them. The logo is printed in its original colour and placed in a way that complements the other elements.

The new envelopes include the G20 Logo ( for recognition and promotion of India’s G20 presidency) and the Passport Seva Logo, as well as instructions to be provided to postal administrations and applicants, as well as the address of the RPO in Pune, a caution to applicants, and logos of the Swachh Bharat Mission and MyGov India initiatives. The RPO considered various designs and based on user feedback, condensed the information to fit on a small sheet of paper while making the envelopes more attractive. New envelopes will soon be used for sending passports.
