Pune, April 28, 2026: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in Pune has directed ride-hailing platforms such as Ola, Uber and Rapido to update and display government-approved fare structures on their mobile apps by 10 am on April 28.

The order was issued during a meeting chaired by Pune District Collector and RTA Chairman Jitendra Dudi. The meeting was attended by representatives of aggregator companies, driver unions, the district administration and the Regional Transport Office.

Officials said the move aims to ensure transparency in fares and reduce disputes between drivers and passengers by clearly showing approved rates within the apps.

Keshav Kshirsagar, president of the Baghtoy Rikshawala Auto Union, said companies have been given strict instructions to follow the approved fare system. He added that strong action will be taken if they fail to comply. The union has also warned of restarting its “only meter” protest if the rules are not implemented.

As per RTA guidelines issued under Resolution No. 71/2023, ride-hailing platforms must align their pricing systems with the state government’s policy for app-based transport services announced in May 2025.

Authorities have warned that failure to update fares by the deadline will lead to action from the RTA and the district administration.
