Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sanjeev Bhor, Pune RTO said, “We have allowed ‘share a rickshaw’ to start from railway stations along with 18 metro stations in the city. The amount of rent to be charged for the same has also been decided. Along with this, those who want to travel by metered rickshaw will also get that facility. This will benefit the citizens as well as the rickshaw drivers.”

As per the information, this service will run from the following 18 metro stations:

Vanaz Metro Station, Anand Nagar, Ideal Colony, Nal Stop, Garware College, PMC, Civil Court, Mangalwar Peth, Pune Station, Ruby Hall, Shivaji Nagar, Bopodi, Dapodi, Phugewadi, Kasarwadi, Bhosari Phata, Sant Tukaram Nagar and PCMC.

RTO surveyed all metro stations including Pune railway station. Then, the plan of starting auto rickshaw services from metro stations was approved.

Metro has now significantly started running in Pune & Pimpri-Chinchwad after the inauguration of 2 new Metro routes on August 1. With the expansion of the metro network, citizens are also preferring metro travel. Hence, to reach the nearest metro station, along with a feeder bus service, a shared rickshaw scheme has been started by the RTO administration for commuting from the metro station to other parts of the city.
