Pune, October 28, 2025: The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has launched a decisive action against vehicles involved in the illegal transport of sand, gravel, and other construction materials. This comes after several complaints regarding unlicensed and hazardous vehicle operations.
According to RTO officials, many vehicles engaged in sand and gravel transport were found operating without valid permits. Following investigations, several licenses have been suspended, and vehicles have been seized.
The RTO has intensified its surveillance with the help of local police teams. Vehicles found violating rules—such as operating without valid permits or insurance—will face immediate suspension of licenses and registration certificates.
Authorities have also stated that repeat offenders will face stricter penalties, including legal action. The RTO has urged transporters and drivers to ensure that all vehicle documents are valid and up-to-date to avoid penalties.
Key Enforcement Details:
30-day permit suspension for vehicles transporting sand or gravel illegally.
60-day vehicle seizure for repeat violations.
Joint operations conducted by the Pune RTO and local police teams.
Officials have warned that this drive will continue until illegal sand and gravel transport activities are completely curbed in the district.
