Pune RTO Warns BH Series Vehicle Owners: Pay Road Tax On Time Or Face Penalty
Pune, September 3, 2025: The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has issued an appeal to vehicle owners registered under the Bharat (BH) series to ensure timely payment of their road tax.
According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on August 26, 2021, vehicles registered under the BH series are required to pay road tax for a period of two years. If the tax is not paid on time, a penalty of ₹100 per day is levied after a grace period of seven days from the due date.
Swapnil Bhosale, deputy RTO Pune official stated, “The Pune RTO noted that many BH series vehicle owners have failed to renew their taxes on time after the initial two-year period, resulting in additional penalties. The office has reminded all such vehicle owners to make their payments promptly to avoid financial burden.”
