Pune: School Bus Rams Into Electric Pole In Kale Padal; Major Accident Averted, Residents Demand Prompt Removal
Pune, April 2, 2026: A school bus carrying students met with an accident in Kale Padal area after it crashed into an electric pole located in the middle of the road.
The incident occurred while the driver was trying to avoid a two-wheeler, leading to a sudden collision with the high-tension pole.
Several children on board sustained minor injuries and were immediately taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment. After receiving primary care, the students were safely handed over to their parents.
Local residents and Shiv Sena workers, including Pravin Hilge and Manoj Jadhav, rushed to the spot upon receiving information and assisted in rescuing the injured students and ensuring timely medical attention.
The incident has raised serious concerns about public safety, as the electric pole stands in the middle of a busy road leading towards the Dreams Aakruti area. Residents have urged the Pune Municipal Corporation and the power distribution authorities to remove the hazardous pole at the earliest.
They have also demanded that the power lines in the area be shifted underground to prevent such accidents in the future and to ease traffic congestion.
