Pune, April 2, 2026: Intense unseasonal rainfall between 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm on April 2 caused widespread disruption across Pune, with Khadakwasla ward office limits recording a massive 104 mm of rain within just 1.5 hours, according to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Several parts of the city witnessed heavy downpours, including regional ward offices such as Sinhagad Road (100 mm), Kondhwa–Yewalewadi (92 mm), Bibwewadi (81 mm), and Kothrud–Bavdhan (66 mm), leading to severe waterlogging and civic emergencies.

The PMC’s disaster management control room received around 145 complaints related to water accumulation, clogged drainage chambers, and flooding inside homes. Additionally, at least 21 incidents of tree falls were reported across different areas.
