Pune: Welspun Enterprises’ subsidiary, Welspun Pune Shirur Projects, has signed a concession agreement with the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) and the Government of Maharashtra for the ₹7,300 crore Pune-Shirur highway project. The announcement came on July 14, following which the company’s shares traded slightly lower in early market hours.

The project involves the construction of a six-lane, partially elevated highway corridor along with the upgradation of the existing Pune-Shirur stretch of National Highway 753F in Maharashtra. It will be developed under the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model, a framework commonly used for large-scale infrastructure projects.

As per the agreement, the project will have a total concession period of 29 years, including a four-year construction phase beginning from the appointed date. The concession agreement also includes provisions for an extension, subject to its terms and conditions.

Despite securing the high-value contract, Welspun Enterprises’ stock witnessed a marginal decline in early trade. Around 9:32 am, the shares were trading at ₹614.85 on the BSE, down ₹1.10 or 0.18% from the previous close.

The recent dip comes after a strong rally in the stock. Over the past three months, Welspun Enterprises has gained nearly 40%. It touched a 52-week high of ₹634.15 on July 1, 2026, while its 52-week low of ₹391.20 was recorded on March 16, 2026. The company currently has a market capitalisation of around ₹8,525.6 crore.

The Pune-Shirur highway project is expected to improve road connectivity and ease traffic movement in the region while strengthening Maharashtra’s transport infrastructure. The project also adds another significant milestone to Welspun Enterprises’ growing portfolio of infrastructure developments.
