Pune, March 8, 2026: Residents of Mahadevwadi and Undri in Ward No. 41 are facing a severe water shortage, prompting Shiv Sena Pune city chief and former corporator Pramod (Nana) Bhangire to demand immediate intervention from the Pune Municipal Corporation.

In a letter addressed to the Municipal Commissioner, Bhangire highlighted several critical issues related to irregular and contaminated water supply in the area. The complaint states that residents have been struggling with water scarcity for the past few months, and the situation is worsening with the onset of summer.

Earlier, on February 17, 2026, a representation was submitted to water supply officer Nandkumar Jagtap seeking urgent action. Key demands included restarting regular water supply through the water tanks located near Dorabjee Mall on Survey No. 25 in Undri. Officials had assured that a technical inspection of the tanks would be carried out and regular supply restored within 15 days, but residents claim no concrete action has been taken so far.

The letter also urges the civic body to increase the number of water tankers in the Mahadevwadi–Undri area to address the growing shortage. Additionally, the pending work on water supply lines and booster systems in the Heaven Park and Rajiv Gandhi nagar areas must be completed immediately.

Another serious concern raised is the presence of larvae in drinking water in parts of Mahadevwadi, posing a potential health risk to residents.

Bhangire has urged the civic administration to resolve the issues and restore regular water supply by March 10, 2026. He warned that if the problems remain unresolved, Shiv Sena will organize a “Handa Morcha”  protest march to the PMC Commissioner’s office on March 11 to draw attention to the water crisis.
