Pune: Sinhagad Road Flyover Set for Full Opening on September 1, CM Devendra Fadnavis to Inaugurate Final Phase
Pune: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will inaugurate the final phase of the Sinhagad Road flyover on Monday, September 1. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is preparing to open the 1,540-metre stretch between Goyalganga Chowk and Inamdar Chowk, which will complete the long-pending project.
Earlier, two sections of the flyover — the 520-metre stretch at Rajaram Chowk and the 2,120-metre stretch from Vitthalwadi to Fun Time Cinema — had already been opened to commuters. Work on the remaining section was delayed due to heavy rains, but civic officials said final touches are now being completed.
The flyover, planned to reduce congestion at the Rajaram Bridge crossing and ease traffic on Sinhagad Road, is expected to bring significant relief to daily commuters. Once fully operational, it will allow vehicles to bypass at least five traffic signals between Vitthalwadi and Fun Time Cinema. The other lane will help avoid signals at Bramha Hotel, Anandnagar, and Hingne Khurd, while also providing safer movement for pedestrians.
Key Phases of the Flyover Project
