Pune: Sinhagad Road Residents Of Prayeja Puram Society Protest Over ₹28 Lakh Maintenance Fund Dispute With Builder
Pune, December 9, 2024: Frustrated by unfulfilled promises, residents of Prayeja Puram Cooperative Housing Society on Sinhagad Road staged a sit-in protest on Saturday outside the builder’s sales office, demanding the return of ₹28 lakh collected as maintenance funds.
Despite the society’s formal registration, the builders, Vijay Bandulal Bhandari of M/s Bhandari Gelda Associates and Sandeep Narayan Jani of Prayeja Puram Developers, have not transferred the funds or the society’s management, causing significant challenges for the residents.
The funds, collected over two to three years from flat owners, were intended for society upkeep. However, the delay has led to critical issues, including unpaid electricity bills resulting in disconnection and non-functional elevators, which have severely impacted senior citizens living in the complex.
Residents, who vowed to continue their protest overnight, stated, “We will not leave until the builder returns the maintenance funds. The neglect has caused unacceptable hardships.”
A police complaint has been filed against the builder, and the residents have called for immediate action to address the ongoing problems.
