Pune, July 6, 2026: The Pune district administration has appealed to devotees and Warkaris to join the annual Palkhi processions from the Pune Municipal Corporation limits or beyond, citing heavy rainfall and safety concerns in Dehu and Alandi.

According to the India Meteorological Department’s Mumbai Regional Meteorological Centre, Pune district has been placed under a Red Alert for July 6, 2026. Heavy rainfall in the Dehu and Alandi areas has led to a significant rise in water accumulation.

The Palkhi processions of Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj are scheduled to commence from Dehu on July 7 and Alandi on July 8, respectively.

In view of the prevailing weather conditions, the district administration has advised Warkaris, devotees, and citizens to participate in the procession from within the Pune Municipal Corporation limits or at locations further along the route, instead of gathering at the starting points in Dehu and Alandi.

The Pune District Collector has appealed to the public to exercise restraint, follow official safety advisories, and cooperate with the district administration to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the Palkhi processions.
