Pune, October 27, 2025: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested a suspected terrorist, identified as Zubair Hangargekar, a software engineer, from Kondhwa area in Pune,according to Agency Reports.

Officials said the accused has been remanded to police custody till November 4.

According to ATS sources, the arrest is connected to the October 9 search operation and FIR, during which electronic evidence was seized from the suspect.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Hangargekar was allegedly associated with Pakistan-based terror outfit Al-Qaeda and was planning anti-national and terrorist activities in Maharashtra and other Indian cities, while maintaining a façade of a professional identity.

The ATS is further investigating the nature of his alleged connections, digital communications, and financial transactions to trace possible links with other operatives.
