Pune, June 18, 2025: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Tuesday visited the victims of the Kundamala bridge collapse at a private hospital in Maval taluka. The tragic incident, which occurred on Sunday, claimed the lives of four tourists and left 38 others injured.

Pawar also visited the accident site in Kundamala and personally inspected the collapsed bridge. Addressing the media, he termed the incident “very unfortunate” and assured that a thorough investigation had been launched.

“The government will take strict action against any officials found guilty of negligence,” Pawar said, underlining the administration’s commitment to accountability.

He further stated that the government has announced financial compensation for the families of those who died and is covering the medical expenses of the injured. Pawar was accompanied by District Collector Jitendra Dudi, MLA Sunil Shelkhe, and other senior officials during his visit.

A formal inquiry into the cause of the collapse is underway, and the government has vowed to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
