A man attempting to die by suicide in Tamhini Ghat was saved by tourists and Pune Rural Police. The man, struggling with debt, tried to hang himself from a tree when tourists from Karnataka spotted him around 7 PM near Plus Valley Hotel.  

The tourists, returning from watching the sunset, saw his legs shaking and quickly rushed to save him. They pulled him down and found he was still breathing. They immediately called the police.  

Officials from Paud Police Station arrived at the scene and found the man unconscious. Police constables Ganesh Lokhande, Mahesh Pawar, and Shrikrishna Pore provided first aid, and he soon regained consciousness. He later told the police that he was under severe financial stress.

The police called 108 emergency services and sent him to Rural Hospital in Paud. If his condition worsens, he will be shifted to Sassoon General Hospital.  

Paud Police confirmed that the man appeared educated but was struggling with debt. Senior Police Inspector Santosh Girigosavi supervised the rescue operation.  

The timely intervention of the tourists and police prevented a tragedy. This incident highlights the importance of mental health awareness and the need for timely support in such situations.
