Pune: Pune is anticipated to experience colder temperatures than usual during Diwali, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a decrease in the minimum temperature.

Additionally, light rains are expected in Pune and its surrounding regions for the next 48 hours. Similarly, other areas of Maharashtra are also predicted to witness light rainfall over the next two days. The formation of a low-pressure system in the East-central Arabian Sea, along with an active cyclonic circulation in the Comorin area, will result in light rainfall over Goa and Madhya Maharashtra for the next three days.

Over the next 48 hours, Pune is anticipated to experience a drop in its minimum temperature, along with a forecast of haze for the next 72 hours. However, the skies are expected to clear up post November 10.

On Wednesday, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Pune were recorded at 30 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively, which is expected to decrease by 2 degrees until November 10. This temperature drop follows an exceptionally hot October, which was primarily due to clear skies and less moisture caused by the early withdrawal of the monsoon.
