Pune: Traffic Diversion On Mumbai–Bengaluru Highway Near Balewadi Metro Station For Foot Overbridge Work
Pune, March 13, 2026: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Traffic Police has announced a temporary traffic diversion on the Mumbai–Bengaluru Highway near Balewadi Metro Station due to the construction of a foot overbridge.
According to the notification issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vivek Patil, the main highway lanes connecting Mumbai and Satara near Metro Station No. 10 at Balewadi will remain closed for vehicular movement during the construction work.
All vehicles travelling from the Mumbai side towards Satara and from Satara towards Mumbai will not be allowed to use the main highway stretch during the specified period. Traffic will instead be diverted through the adjacent service road to ensure smooth movement.
The diversion will be in effect from 11:00 pm on March 14, 2026, to 5:00 am on March 15, 2026.
Officials said the decision was taken to maintain safe and smooth traffic flow during the construction activity. Authorities have also instructed the contractor, Tata Projects Limited, to install proper signboards, deploy traffic wardens and place barricades at the site to guide motorists.
The traffic police have urged commuters to cooperate with the temporary arrangements and follow the diversion routes during the scheduled work period.
