National Lok Adalat To Be Held On May 9 Across Pune District

Pune, March 13, 2026: The Pune District Administration has announced the organization of a National Lok Adalat on March 14, 2026, to provide an effective platform for amicable settlement of pending and pre-litigation cases. Parties, advocates, and citizens have been urged to bring their eligible cases to the Lok Adalat to take advantage of this opportunity for speedy resolution.

Mahendra Mahajan, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority and Principal District & Sessions Judge, highlighted that Lok Adalats offer an efficient way to resolve disputes through mutual consent, reducing the burden on courts and ensuring faster justice. The initiative will be held not only at the district headquarters but also across all taluka courts in Pune.

D.J. Patil, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, encouraged maximum participation, emphasizing that Lok Adalats allow both parties to present their case and reach an amicable settlement.

Cases eligible for settlement include civil and criminal disputes eligible for compromise, NI Act cases, land acquisition disputes, family disputes, motor vehicle accident claims, MSEB dues, petitions, consumer complaints, pending court cases, telecom and banking disputes, and water supply issues under gram panchayats, municipal councils, and municipal corporations.

Advantages of the Lok Adalat include waiver of court fees as per rules, instant disposal of cases, no appeals against decisions, avoidance of bitterness between parties, and savings of both time and money.
