Pune: To address persistent traffic congestion at ABC Farms Chowk on Salunke Vihar Road, the Kondhwa Traffic Police have implemented temporary road diversions. Vehicles from Salunke Vihar Society, Wanowrie, and Fakhri Hill are now restricted from entering the lane beside Jogeshwari Misal. This step was necessary to tackle frequent bottlenecks caused by the narrow road and a tempo stand near the eatery.
Senior Police Inspector Kumar Ghadge of the Kondhwa Traffic Division stated, “The new diversion has significantly improved traffic flow. Earlier, vehicle movement was hindered by the narrow lanes. Now, motorists are using Anandpur Lane Trust and Lonkar Garden Road as alternate routes, which has brought better discipline to the area.”
Motorists now use Kotak Bank Chowk to navigate the stretch, which has noticeably eased congestion at the chowk.

“The traffic situation has improved, but there should be strict monitoring to prevent parking near exits, or the area might turn into a public urinal,” said a resident.
Another local suggested, “Vegetable vendors along Salunke Vihar Road must be removed, or the diversion will be ineffective.”
Certain Vegetable Shops still cause congestion, and a new fruit shop might worsen the situation,” expressed a commuter.
“The exit of Lane 11 is becoming crowded with flower vendors. Authorities should intervene,” stated a regular passerby.
“Traffic movement has improved, but consistent monitoring is crucial to maintain the positive results,” added another resident.
