PUNE: The traffic arrangements in the city will undergo changes on Thursday, March 7, after 5 pm, in light of the Dahi Handi festival. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Vijay Kumar Magar, has urged motorists to use alternative routes during this period to avoid any inconvenience.

As per the information provided, devotees will gather the city, from Budhwar Chowk to Datta mandir Chowk, Belbag Chowk to Seva Sadan Chowk, Budhwar Chowk to Appa Balwant Chowk, Mandai Chowk (Babu Genu Chowk), Sahitya Parishad Chowk, and Navi Peth, from 5 pm until the Dahi Handi festival is completed on Shivaji Road, Laxmi Road, Bajirao Road, and Tilak Road. At this time, the traffic will be altered to prevent congestion on these roads.

It is important to note the following routes: –

To reach Swargate from Shivaji Road, one can take Tilak Road or Shastri Road from Khandojibaba Chowk via Jangli Maharaj Road, starting from Barve Chowk.

To go to Shivajinagar from Puram Chowk, one can take Tilak Road from Tilak Chowk to Ferguson Square, starting from Puram Chowk. Alternatively, one can reach Senadutt Chowk from Puram Chowk.

 To reach Pune Municipal Corporation Building from Barve Chowk, one can turn left from Jhansi Rani Chowk on Jangli Maharaj Road, starting from Barve Chowk.

One-way traffic will be diverted from Budhwar Chowk to Appa Balwant Chowk. Traffic coming from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk can proceed from Bajirao Road.

Traffic coming from Rameshwar Chowk to Shanipar Chowk will be closed, and alternative routes should be used.

Traffic from Sonya Maruti Chowk to Laxmi Road directly towards Seva Sadan Chowk will be stopped. These vehicles will turn right from Sonya Maruti Chowk and go to the desired place from Phadke Houd Chowk.

Traffic on Ganesh Road will be closed from Daruwala Bridge. Traffic will also be closed at Devjibaba Chowk and Phadke Houd Chowk. Motorists should use Apollo Talkies, Narpatgir Chowk, Daruwala Bridge, and Dudhbhatti Road.
