Pune : Treasure Chest of German, French, Swiss and Indian Films for Pune Film Buffs

Pune Aug 3: All film enthusiasts from Pune can now watch critically acclaimed short films from Germany, France, Switzerland and India as a part of the fifth edition of ‘The International Shorts Collective’. 

The films will be screened at The Base in Erandwane on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th August, 2023 between 5pm and 9pm. The films are being presented by Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Pune, Alliance Française de Pune, Consulate General of Switzerland in Mumbai, Pune Film Foundation and the Arbhaat Film Club.

Cinema lovers can enjoy this short film collective free of cost by registering on https://rb.gy/22wl7. Seating will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.

The German contribution to the festival is a series of films selected from the Short Export 2023 Package. Selected from among more than 470 entries registered for the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, the six German short films give an insight into the artistic, aesthetic and thematic variety of contemporary German short films.

The meticulously curated French, Swiss and Indian film collection showcases artistic storytelling of thought-provoking themes relating to varied human experiences. The short collective is selected from among the entries registered for the Locarno Film Festival, the National Film Awards of India and other prominent film festivals around the world.

This collective is being presented by The Franco-German collaboration along with art-promoting organizations like the Consulate General of Switzerland in Mumbai, Pune Film Foundation Arbhaat Film Club and Rainbow Umbrella Foundation.
