Pune: In a horrific incident, two Prabhat Road residents set their dog loose on the employees of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) as they went to disconnect the electricity connection of residents who failed to clear their dues. As per information, the incident occurred on September 27.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vipin Hasabnis, Deccan Police Inspector said, “On Wednesday afternoon, employees of MSEDCL had gone to a house in Prabhat Road Lane no 3 to cut the electricity connection of residents who had not paid their electricity dues. The residents had pending electricity dues of Rs 5,000 and failed to pay them. Hence, as per the orders of superiors, an MSEDCL senior technician and his colleagues went to collect the electricity dues. Both the accused did not pay their electricity dues even at that time. As a result, the MSEDCL employees started disconnecting the electricity supply of their house. The accused spoke rudely with them and set their dog loose on them. They also confined the MSEDCL employees in the staircase. The accused obstructed the duties of MSEDCL. Therefore, the MSEDCL senior technician filed a case with the Deccan Police.”

As per further information by Hasabnis, a case has been registered against the 2 accused under Section 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The Deccan Police are further investigating the matter.
