Pune: Two Schools From Loni Kalbhor and Phursungi Accused Of Operating Without Valid Permissions, Case Filed Â
The Pune city police have taken action against the office-bearers of two English-medium schools, situated in Loni Kalbhor and Phursungi, by registering cases of cheating. This follows allegations that these schools were operating without proper permission from local authorities.
Dnyandeo Khose, the block education officer of Haveli panchayat samiti, lodged complaints regarding these incidents. Khose disclosed that despite the education department issuing closure notices to both schools since 2022, they continued to function unlawfully.
In the case of the school in Loni Kalbhor, which originally received permission to teach standards I to V in 2015, the management failed to submit mandatory Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) documentation, leading to its closure in 2019 due to low student enrollment. However, in 2023, the school reopened without government approval and admitted 81 students for standards VI to VIII.
Similarly, in Phursungi, while the school was initially authorized to operate standards I to V, it illegally commenced classes for standards VI to VIII and enrolled 41 students in these grades.
“The office-bearers deceived students, parents, and the government by illegally running these establishments under the guise of affiliation with the state board,” Khose asserted. He further stated that arrangements are being made to transfer affected students to nearby schools.
Cases related to cheating under the Indian Penal Code and the Right to Education Act have been registered at the Loni Kalbhor and Hadapsar police stations, addressing incidents that occurred before July 1.
