Pune: Two-Year-Old Girl Killed By Speeding Car Driven By Unlicensed Woman On Sinhagad Road

Pune: In a heartbreaking accident, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by a speeding car driven by a woman without a valid driving license. The incident occurred on Monday around 3:30 pm near Deva Hotel in Jadhav Nagar, Vadgaon Budruk, police said.

According to the complaint filed by the victim’s father, Siddharam Shrimant Gurubasgol, an electrician residing in Jadhav Nagar, his daughter was playing outside their home when a Santro car (MH 12 DE 1258) hit her, causing grievous injuries. Despite efforts to save her, the child tragically succumbed to her injuries.

The driver has been identified as 35-year-old Manisha Suraj Shedge, a resident of Maulikunj Society in Jadhav Nagar. Shedge was driving without a valid license, a fact she was fully aware of, according to police reports.

“The accused was driving recklessly and at high speed, violating traffic rules. This reckless behavior resulted in the tragic death of the young girl,” said Suresh Baburao Jaybhay, Police Sub-Inspector at Sinhagad Police Station.

Authorities are in the process of registering an offense under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, confirmed Raghavendra Kshirsagar, Senior Police Inspector at Sinhagad Road Police Station. Further legal action will be taken as per the provisions of the law.

The case highlights the dangers posed by reckless driving and the grave consequences of driving without a valid license.
