Pune : Undri Residents Disturbed By Late-Night Noises and Illicit Activities, Call For Urgent Intervention

Residents of several societies like Godrej Prana, Inora Park and more, nearby Autadewadi Lake, are troubled as frequently, late in the night, several people come near the lake & hold parties, consume alcohol, make noises, do illicit activities, loud noise of bikes, silencers, etc, disturbing the peace of the area.

Speaking to Pune Pulse exclusively, a resident of Godrej Prana, requesting anonymity, said “There are many people who come late at night in the area near the lake, start bonfires, consume liquor, carry out illicit activities, make a lot of noise & other disturbances for society residents. Earlier, we had met the authorities regarding this. We & some other nearby societies had jointly complained about this issue.”

Another resident of Godrej Prana, requesting anonymity, said “There is a bullet motorcycle rider who keeps roaming in the area at night & at least 4 to 5 people are with the person. Alcohol drinking, bonfires etc goes on for the entire night. The situation is very bad on weekends. Apart from lakeside, the situation on the nearby road is also worse with several people gathering there. When we go for a walk in the morning, we get to know how many alcohol bottles are lying around. Hence, we need police patrolling & a fence/gate should be built for security. Another thing is that the lake can be used in a positive manner. A small park or a walking space must be created around the park. By this, people creating such nuisance will also not come to the area.”

Another resident of Godrej Prana, requesting anonymity, said “This issue has been here for a long time. A lot of people come to the lakeside at night on bullet motorcycles, causing a lot of noise. They stay at the lake & do all kinds of activities. That is causing a lot of nuisance for several residents of nearby societies. Residents are also scared as to who is coming at night & creating disturbance on a regular basis.”

Santosh Sonawane, Senior Police Inspector, Kondhwa Police Station, said “We will send our officers for patrolling in the area at night time.”
